Get the life smarts

Technology and the world of work is changing fast.

According to the World Economic Forum 65% of children entering primary school today will be working in completely new job types that don’t yet exist.

Many of the skills our young people will need in this future are soft skills.

These skills are not a priority in mainstream education, but they can be taught.

Recent McKinsey & Company research identifies 56 ‘foundational’ skills of the future.

45 of these are ‘soft skills’ and include things like time management and prioritisation, structured problem solving, agile thinking, understanding our emotions and triggers, self-control and regulation, empathy, collaboration, and resolving conflicts to name a few.

At The Life Smarts, we like to think of these as Real World Skills, which help young people develop their internal resources, and set them up to be future ready.

How do we do this? We currently offer one-to-one coaching and mentoring for young people, family / educator coaching and group workshops for young people or parents and educators. We will also be launching life skills courses soon.
